10/29/2025, 16:48Exports of women's knitwear grew by almost 80% in the first eight months of 2025. Most of the volume went to Russia, while imports declined slightly.
According to the National Statistics Committee, from January to August 2025, Kyrgyzstan exported 1.3 million pieces of women's knitwear worth $8 million. This is 79.9% more than in the same period last year, when exports amounted to 727,800 pieces worth $4 million in KGS.
The main destination for exports remains Russia, which purchased 1.3 million items worth $8 million. Kazakhstan ranks second, with 255 items worth $2,800 shipped there.
For comparison, in 2024, Russia purchased 726,900 units worth $4 million, Kazakhstan purchased 570 units worth $2,600, and Belarus purchased 420 units worth $3,500.
Imports, on the contrary, decreased slightly, by only 0.8%. In January–August 2025, 245,000 items of clothing worth $1.35 million were imported into Kyrgyzstan, compared to 247,000 items worth $1.45 million a year earlier.
The main suppliers remained the same:
• Russia — 154,100 items worth $569,100,
• Kazakhstan — 90,900 items worth $776,700.
In 2024, there were also small deliveries from Belarus — 75 items worth $914, but in 2025 they ceased.
