Kyrgyzstan ranks among the countries with the most affordable meat prices — Antimonopoly Agency

Kyrgyzstan remains one of the countries with the most affordable meat prices. This was stated by the Antimonopoly Regulation Service in response to social media posts alleging high prices in the country.

According to the international platform Numbeo, the average price of beef in Kyrgyzstan is about $8.50 per kilogram. This is lower than in Kazakhstan ($8.72), Russia ($10.90), Azerbaijan ($10.53), and Armenia ($12.28). The gap becomes even more noticeable when compared to European countries. For example, beef costs $45.75 per kilogram in Switzerland, $32.82 in Norway, and $27.74 in Luxembourg.

The Antimonopoly Service emphasizes that these figures confirm the competitiveness of the domestic market and refute claims of “the highest prices” in the republic.

The agency notes that it regularly monitors prices for socially significant goods and analyzes the situation in comparison with EAEU countries and neighboring markets.

“Price dynamics in Kyrgyzstan remain stable and under control,” the Antimonopoly Service reported, based on its observations.

In addition, prices for a number of essential goods in the country remain lower than in Armenia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, while for certain items they are comparable to those in Russia and Belarus.

Authorities cite the development of social infrastructure as an additional factor contributing to the affordability of goods. A network of “Eurasia” social stores is already operating in Bishkek, where goods are sold directly from manufacturers at reduced prices, and discounts using a social card reach 40%.
