The First Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Choro Seyitov, said at the National Consultation on 28 March that the country is the leader in Central Asia and 45th in the world ranking for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event was dedicated to the preparation of the Second National Voluntary Survey on the achievement of the SDGs in the country. Choro Seyitov emphasised that the Ministry of Economy and Commerce is actively coordinating efforts on sustainable development, focusing on economic growth, social justice and environmental sustainability. At the consultation, the deputy ministers of the relevant agencies provided analyses of the current situation in the fields of economy, social policy, environment and public administration.

Important topics of discussion included improving access to education and digital technologies, measures to support vulnerable groups, and combating inequality. The consultation was an important step in the preparation of the National Voluntary Survey, which Kyrgyzstan will present in July at the UN High-Level Political Forum.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce continues its efforts to strengthen the national policy on sustainable development, which ensures economic stability and the well-being of citizens. The event was attended by deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of the Presidential Administration, state bodies, international organisations, business and civil society. They emphasised the need for joint efforts to achieve the 2030 Agenda.
