China sets special tariff quotas that allow importers to import certain volumes of goods at low duties — about 1%.
If the volume exceeds the quota, duties increase significantly, making the products less competitive. For 2025, China has set quotas for goods such as wheat (9.64 million tonnes), corn (7.2 million tonnes), rice (5.32 million tonnes), cotton, sugar and others.Kyrgyzstan offers to export corn, wheat flour, fodder crops, cotton and wool. This will help increase trade between the countries and create new opportunities for Kyrgyz farmers and producers.
According to the National Statistical Committee, in 2024, agricultural trade between Kyrgyzstan and China grew to $153.3 million, which is $33 million more than in 2023.
