The population of Kyrgyzstan increased by 103,000, or 1.4%

The permanent population of Kyrgyzstan increased by 103,400 people, or 1.4%, in January–October 2025. As of November 1, it reached 7,385,000 people.

At the beginning of last year, the country's population was 7,281,800 people.

The highest absolute population growth was recorded in the capital. The population of Bishkek grew by 31,700 people over ten months, reaching 1,353,600. This corresponds to an increase of 2.4%, which is the highest rate among all regions of the country.

The city of Osh ranks second in terms of growth rate, with its population increasing by 10,700 (+2.3%) to 484,200.

Among the regions, the largest contribution to the overall increase was made by:

• Jalal-Abad region — +17,800 people;
• Osh region — +17,300;
• Chui region — +10,000;
• Batken region — +8,900.

The lowest growth rates were recorded in:

• Naryn region — only +1,100 people;
• Issyk-Kul region – +3.8 thousand;
• Talas region – +2.1 thousand.

At the same time, in terms of the number of permanent residents, the capital ranks only third, after the Osh (1.4 million people) and Jalal-Abad (1.37 million) regions.
