“The size of the economy has now almost tripled. Average wages are rising,” he said during a meeting with journalists as part of the ‘Open Cabinet’ project.
According to him, the authorities are recording a significant reduction in official statistics regarding the number of Kyrgyz citizens working abroad, primarily in Russia.
Amangeldiev noted that, at the same time, the country’s demand for labour is growing. He said that staff shortages are already being felt in construction, the service sector and the transport sector, which is why Kyrgyzstan is beginning to attract foreign workers to implement major projects.
“We are already seeing a labour shortage on the ground,” he emphasised.
The Cabinet also stated that by 2030, the country’s economy will develop as a people-centred one. The authorities intend to place the main emphasis on education, increasing wages in the social sector and creating conditions for the younger generation.
