Chinese companies will provide Kyrgyzstan with special equipment worth more than $1 million as a grant

Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev in the framework of a working visit to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China (XUAR) held talks with the heads of a number of major Chinese companies in the city of Urumqi.

Initially ‘Chinese-Kyrgyz company Kaiyuan Industrial Development (Xinjiang) Ltd.’ A meeting with representatives of the company was held. Discussed the progress of the project to create a comprehensive international customs and logistics park with intellectual infrastructure ‘Golden Road Asia-Europe’, which is planned to be built in the Chui region of Kyrgyzstan.

At the same time, Deputy Chairman of the Ministry of Customs Bakyt Torobaev said that appropriate land will be allocated for the construction of the customs and logistics park, and that after its commissioning it should equally serve both countries in the field of exports and imports. It should be noted that the volume of investment in the construction of the customs and logistics park is $30 million, and this Memorandum was signed last year at the VIII Issyk-Kul Economic Forum.

Also, Deputy Chairman of the Ministry of Trade and Industry Bakyt Torobaev held talks with the information technology company Quanyibao. This company is engaged in the production of agricultural drones and artificial rain.

They discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of digitalisation of the agricultural sector. As a result, the company provided Kyrgyzstan with more than $1.12 million in grants for the purchase of special agricultural equipment for artificial rain and control of insects damaging crops. In addition, a memorandum of co-operation was signed between Kyrgyz Agroholding and Quanibao.

Deputy Chairman of the Ministry of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev completed today's working visit to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China with a meeting with the heads of 6 Chinese companies working in the agricultural sector, including seed production, animal husbandry and horticulture. Bakyt Torobaev noted that the investment climate in Kyrgyzstan is good, and the state will always support entrepreneurs, and invited all the representatives of companies who came to the meeting to participate in the agricultural forum to be held in Kyrgyzstan on 3-4 April this year.
