Who is currently being recruited: an overview of job vacancies in Kyrgyzstan

At the end of 2025, the official unemployment rate across the country stood at 1.3%. The number of unemployed people registered with employment support agencies was 57,700. There are 38,270 officially unemployed people. This was reported by the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration.

Regional employment support departments of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration are working to identify and analyse vacancies with employers.

In the first quarter, 8,087 vacancies were registered, of which 5,243 are currently available.
Through the work of the employment services, 3,562 unemployed citizens have been placed in jobs.

It should be noted that the Ministry’s employment support services are provided free of charge at the place of residence.

These include: registration as unemployed and the issuance of relevant certificates; referral for vocational training, retraining and upskilling; the award and payment of unemployment benefits; provision of temporary employment through paid public works programmes; information on job vacancies; support for socially vulnerable families through social contracts and the implementation of the ‘Youth Internship’ project on a project basis.

Career guidance is also provided for anyone interested and for graduates of educational institutions to help them choose a future profession.

In the first quarter of 2026, there is a demand for 5,243 jobs in the labour market.

The vacancies are distributed as follows:

• Professionals — 1,465:
• pre-school and school teachers — 323;
• healthcare workers (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, massage therapists, paramedics) — 527;
• managers — 17;
• accountants and cashiers — 158;
• state and local government employees — 114;
• lawyers — 4;
• programmers — 98;
• agents — 118;
• trainees — 47;
• promoters — 42;
• tour guides — 2;
• road maintenance workers — 4;
• office managers / clerks — 11.
   

Blue-collar occupations — 3,778:

• IT specialists — 175;
• cooks — 138;
• sales agents — 260;
• seamstresses — 1,065;
• welders — 110;
• construction workers (mechanics, welders, carpenters, turners, fitters, concrete workers, etc.) — 373;
• drivers — 427;
• tunnellers (underground work) — 154;
• road workers — 60.

Service sector workers are also required — 1,016 (hairdressers, manicurists, healthcare workers, waiters, shop assistants, beauticians, security guards, cleaners, porters, couriers, carers, confectioners, bakers, farmers, shepherds, nannies, housekeepers)
New vacancies have also been added to the database: freight forwarder, tour guide, marketing specialist, barista.

According to data from the National Statistical Committee for January 2026, the average salary by sector is as follows: financial sector – 83,277 KGS; industry – 68,101 KGS; transport – 58,657 KGS; construction – 57,472 KGS; trade – 55,188 KGS; agriculture – 33,813 KGS; services – 29,679 KGS; health and social services – 30,509 KGS; education – 27,352 KGS; culture – 27,326 som; scientific research – 58,541 KGS; information and communications – 80,277 KGS; extractive industries – 86,971 KGS.

39,373 citizens approached employment support services, of whom 27,427 received advice on labour legislation, vocational training, retraining and career choice.

To enhance the competitiveness of unemployed citizens in the labour market, 2,039 people have been referred for vocational training.

Training is provided in in-demand professions, including: cook, seamstress, hairdresser, accountant with knowledge of 1C, auto electricians, PC operators, sales agents, beauticians, manicurists, massage therapists, make-up artists, translators, leather and fur specialists, designers, electric and gas welders, and plumbing fitters.
