China's Largest Oil Company Is Discussing Projects in Kyrgyzstan

During a working visit to China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Erlist Akunbekov, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, held talks with the leadership of Sinopec, one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies.

At a meeting with Hou Qijun, Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, the parties discussed prospects for implementing joint investment projects in Kyrgyzstan.

The main focus was on establishing joint production and processing enterprises in the oil and gas sector, as well as developing projects in the field of renewable energy.

As noted by the Cabinet of Ministers, the talks were part of efforts to expand investment cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China and to attract major international companies to implement industrial projects in the republic.
