Kumtor transferred 3.6 billion KGS more to the budget than a year ago

In January–September, Kumtor Gold Company contributed more than 10.2 billion KGS to the state budget in the form of gross income tax. This is 53% more than in the same period of 2024, when 6.7 billion KGS were paid to the treasury.

The amount consisted directly of Kumtor's gross income tax, which amounted to 8.17 billion KGS against 6.39 billion KGS a year earlier, as well as annual payments for the development of the mineral resource base — 2.11 billion KGS, which is almost seven times more than in January–September 2024 (317.6 million KGS).

We would like to add that, according to the Ministry of Finance's forecast, Kyrgyzstan's industrial growth in 2028 will largely depend on Kumtor. Without taking into account the company's operations in 2026, the country's industrial growth will even be 2.3 percentage points higher than with it, amounting to 9.1%, but from 2027 onwards, Kumtor's role will become decisive.
