02/20/2026, 17:02The mayor of Osh, Zhanar Akayev, met with blacksmiths during a tour of the old Osh bazaar.
During the meeting, the mayor drew attention to the current state of the market and stressed the need to bring the craftsmen's workplaces into line with modern requirements, as well as to improve sanitary conditions and safety measures.
The mayor instructed that the area be cleaned up and transformed into a tourist town focused on the development of national crafts. It was also noted that this area should not be turned into a trading platform, but will function primarily as a town of craftsmen.
