Kyrgyzstan bans export of mineral fertilizers outside the EAEU for six months

Kyrgyzstan has imposed a six-month ban on the export of mineral fertilizers outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. The relevant decision was signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev.

The restriction applies to exports outside the EAEU and is aimed at regulating the domestic market. However, the ban does not apply to:

  • goods transported under customs transit procedures;
  • humanitarian aid provided by the Cabinet of Ministers;
  • mineral fertilizers previously imported from third countries if they are found to be non-compliant with established quality requirements.

State authorities have been instructed to strengthen control and take measures to prevent the illegal export of certain types of mineral fertilizers.

The introduction of such measures is justified in view of the upcoming agricultural work. This is a period when we ourselves will need fertilizers.
