The meeting took place on 3 December at Yntymak Ordo with the participation of Hugh Riddell, head of the World Bank office in Kyrgyzstan, and Mohini Kak, senior health specialist. The parties reviewed the interim results of the implementation of the programme to improve the quality of primary health care and discussed expanding its coverage and sustainability.

Particular attention was paid to developing human resources, attracting private medical institutions, and strengthening measures to protect children's health. Among the initiatives under consideration is the regulation of sugar-sweetened beverages as one of the factors in disease prevention.
Edil Baysalov emphasised the strategic importance of healthcare for the country:
‘We expect healthcare spending to increase more than fivefold in the coming years. Already next year, the salaries of medical workers will grow significantly, and large-scale state investments will be directed towards the construction of modern infrastructure both in the capital and in the regions,’ he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the reforms are being implemented as part of the national development programme until 2030 and with the support of the new leadership of the Ministry of Health, which has been tasked with seriously updating approaches in the industry.
