Kyrgyzstan opens the door to the global halal industry through Indonesia

Kyrgyzstan has taken a step towards establishing itself on the map of the global halal industry. On the sidelines of the Halal Indonesia International Industry Expo 2025 in South Tangerang, an agreement was signed that could become the country's ticket to the huge Muslim consumer market.

The document was signed by Almaz Kayyrbekov, director of the State Agency for the Development of the Halal Industry, and Kris Sasono, director of the Centre for the Development of the Halal Industry at the Indonesian Ministry of Industry.

The parties agreed to exchange experience, train specialists, jointly promote products and services on global markets, and develop joint projects.

Halal is a full-fledged global industry, which, according to open sources, is worth trillions of dollars, ranging from food and cosmetics to pharmaceuticals and tourism. Indonesia is one of the world's largest Islamic economies and a key player in this field. For Kyrgyzstan, partnership with Indonesia means an opportunity not only to strengthen its own exports, but also to occupy a niche in international supply chains.

The signing was made possible thanks to the efforts of diplomats — the Indonesian Embassy in Tashkent, in particular Ambassador Yudi Adam's advisor, and the Kyrgyz Embassy in Malaysia.
