Kyrgyzstan has sharply increased spending due to strategic megaprojects

The growth in budget expenditures in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 is due to large-scale financing of strategic projects, primarily infrastructure projects. According to Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev, capital investments have increased more than fivefold, from 10 billion to 51.7 billion KGS.

The increase in investment spending was made possible by the achievement of a historic milestone, namely the country's consolidated budget reaching 1 trillion 93 billion KGS, exceeding the trillion mark two years ahead of schedule. The Cabinet attributes this to consistent economic and fiscal policies.

The main increase in spending was on strategic projects, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the Kambarata HPP-1 project, as well as the capitalization of Eldik Bank, energy companies, and support for the State Mortgage Company.
