11/08/2025, 10:58Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev took part in the 12th Central Asia-China Cooperation Forum during a working visit to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.
In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that special attention is being paid to the development of transport and logistics infrastructure connecting Central Asian countries with China.
In particular, he mentioned the implementation of such major projects as the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the Barskoon-Bedel-Uchturfan-Aksu motorway, the operation of checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border (Irkeshtam, Torgart and Bedel), and the official opening of the second air corridor between Kyrgyzstan and China on 30 October 2025, which is an important route of regional significance.
Kyrgyzstan's achievements in transport cooperation with the states of Central Asia and China were noted, as well as the country's special role in the formation of a single regional multimodal transport hub. Chinese companies were invited to implement joint projects to create trade, logistics and industrial centres necessary for the effective development of international transport routes.
It was also noted that under the leadership of President Sadyr Zhaparov, Kyrgyzstan is moving forward confidently, implementing fundamental reforms that are having a positive impact on the country's economic development.
It was separately emphasised that an active fight against corruption and organised crime is being waged. Meetings with leading Chinese enterprises in the agricultural sector were held within the framework of the forum. During the negotiations, issues of cooperation between the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan and Chinese partners on the implementation of joint projects in the field of production of biological preparations and vaccines for animals, as well as on the creation of veterinary research centres, were discussed.
