02/12/2025, 08:05Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Absattar Syrgabaev took part in the 87th meeting of the United Nations Committee on Inland Transport of the Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva, where he discussed key issues of international cooperation in the transport sector. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting with UNECE Executive Secretary Tatiana Molchan, which took place on January 10, the prospects for Kyrgyzstan's accession to international agreements, including the Treaty on the Transport of Dangerous Goods and the Agreement on Uniform Technical Prescriptions for Wheeled Vehicles, were discussed. In addition, the parties touched upon the issues of reducing the environmental impact of transportation and the development of digital solutions in the industry.
Tatyana Molchan expressed her gratitude to the Minister for his efforts to implement European initiatives in the transport sector and emphasized readiness for further cooperation.
Within the framework of the conference, Minister Syrgabaev also spoke at the meeting of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), noting that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad remains one of the strategic priorities for the country.
He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan supports initiatives to develop new transport corridors, remove trade barriers and introduce modern logistics solutions.
