01/11/2025, 15:21Kyrgyzstan has approved the Program for the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights for 2025-2027. This should help strengthen the country's reputation internationally and improve the business environment.
These principles, developed by the UN and endorsed by the Human Rights Council in 2011, focus on three key aspects:
To achieve this goal, an action plan has been developed, which includes 25 measures covering three key areas and nine tasks. Government bodies, business associations and the civil sector will be involved in their implementation.
The program is aimed at promoting the corporate responsibility of business to respect human rights, the investment attractiveness of Kyrgyzstan and the creation of a coordinated approach of government bodies to business and human rights issues.
The implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights will allow Kyrgyzstan to strengthen its position in Central Asia by demonstrating its commitment to international standards and creating a more transparent environment for business.
The Ministry of Economy is confident that this step will be an important element in the development of the country as a reliable and socially responsible partner for international investors.
