Vehicles with region code 10 cannot be sold, only inherited

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliyev, signed a decree regulating the use of vehicles with foreign number plates that have been legalised and received a code for the 10th region.

According to the document, such cars cannot be sold, taken out of the country or transferred to third parties for use. Only the owner himself can drive them.

There are only two exceptions:

  • upon the death of the owner, the car may be inherited by his wife or one of his children;
  • if the owner is declared incapacitated, the car may be driven by his spouse, child or caregiver.

To formalise the transfer, documents confirming the right to inheritance or guardianship must be provided.

As a reminder, the legalisation of cars with foreign number plates began on 1 April and will continue until 1 October. Driving without a driving licence is punishable by a fine of 1,000 KGS.
