Bishkek City Hall restricts heavy truck traffic during the day until October

The Bishkek authorities have temporarily banned trucks weighing over 18 tons from driving on municipal roads during the day, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The restriction will remain in effect until October 1, 2025, and is aimed at ensuring road safety, preserving asphalt, and extending its service life.

The restrictions do not apply to trucks carrying humanitarian aid, perishable goods, or those involved in road construction and repair commissioned by the mayor's office.

According to city officials, heavy trucks often damage asphalt in hot weather. In addition, many city residents are in favor of such vehicles traveling exclusively at night.

Compliance with the order will be monitored during daily raids conducted by the municipal inspection and the Bishkek UPSM. Violators face administrative liability under Article 181 of the Code of Offenses.
