The meeting focused on the so-called “regulatory guillotine” — a mechanism that allows for the review and reduction of outdated and business-impeding permits, certificates, and procedures.
First Deputy Minister Choro Seytov noted that 33 of 36 government agencies have already submitted their proposals on which regulations should be abolished or amended. He urged the rest not to delay: the work must be completed on time.
Until July 31, entrepreneurs themselves can submit proposals on what hinders them, which documents are duplicated, and which are completely unnecessary. All ideas will be collected through the Investment Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, and in August, the MEC will summarize the results and begin the next phase of changes.
The reform is being carried out by presidential decree and order of the Cabinet of Ministers. Its goal is to establish a partnership between the state and business, remove unnecessary barriers, and simplify business operations.
