09/11/2026, 09:00A working meeting was held in the Chinese city of Haikou, on Hainan Island, to discuss the launch of a direct flight between Bishkek and the resort town of Sanya.
The main topic of the talks was the launch of the Sanya–Bishkek–Sanya route. It is expected that flights may commence during the 2026/2027 winter season.
The Kyrgyz side was represented by Aman Mamaev, Commercial Director of OJSC ‘Airports of Kyrgyzstan’. The meeting was held with the support of the Kyrgyz Embassy in China and the Regional Project Support Centre for SCO countries in Kyrgyzstan.
The Chinese delegation included representatives from Hainan Province, led by Fen Fei, Secretary of the Provincial CPC Committee.
The talks were a practical follow-up to the agreements reached during the SCO summit in Bishkek at a meeting between the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping. The parties agreed to continue strengthening cooperation, including in the fields of transport and tourism.
Sanya is a resort town in southern Hainan, known for its tropical climate, beaches and seaside resorts.
