Microfinance organisations in Kyrgyzstan have seen a significant increase in deposits and lending

Microfinance organisations in Kyrgyzstan continue to expand their business. In the first half of the year, their assets grew by almost 12 per cent, their loan portfolio by more than 11 per cent, and their deposit base increased by around 36 per cent.

As at 30 June, according to data from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, the total assets of microfinance organisations reached 81.4 billion KGS. Since the end of last year, they have increased by 8.5 billion KGS.

At the same time, microfinance organisations have started to issue more loans. Their loan portfolio grew by 7 billion KGS, reaching 68.7 billion KGS.

The most notable growth was seen in the funds that customers deposit with microfinance organisations. The deposit base increased by 3.7 billion KGS at once, reaching 14 billion KGS. Compared with the end of 2025, this represents growth of approximately 36 per cent.

Sharia-compliant financing also continues to grow. Over the six-month period, its volume increased by 300 million KGS to reach 2.3 billion KGS.

The authorised capital of microfinance organisations also increased – by 800 million KGS, to 15.8 billion KGS.

Thus, in the first half of the year, the microfinance sector grew in several areas simultaneously. The deposit base grew at the fastest rate.
