The ministry stated that current labour legislation does not oblige employers to reduce the length of the working day due to high air temperatures.
However, employers are obliged to ensure safe working conditions for their staff in accordance with legal requirements.
The Ministry of Labour’s statement came against the backdrop of abnormally hot weather that has taken hold in a number of regions across Kyrgyzstan.
The Ministry emphasised that compliance with health and safety requirements is the responsibility of every employer and is aimed at safeguarding the lives, health and working capacity of employees.
