The capacity of the Kambarata Hydroelectric Power Plant No. 2 will double after the second generating unit is commissioned

Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev visited facilities in the Naryn Hydropower Cascade, where he reviewed the progress of construction at the Kambarata HPP-1, the capacity expansion at the Kambarata HPP-2, and the results of the modernization of the Toktogul HPP.

During a working trip to the Jalal-Abad Region, the Prime Minister inspected the Kambarata HPP-2, where preparations are underway for the installation of a second 120-MW hydroelectric unit. Upon completion of the project, the plant’s capacity will double. At the same time, an additional spillway is being constructed at the site.

At the Kambarata HPP-1 site, Kasymaliev inspected the construction of a bridge across the Naryn River, the building of access roads, and preparatory work for the start of the main construction phase. He instructed that the infrastructure projects be completed on schedule.

The Prime Minister also visited the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Plant, where the modernization of all four hydroelectric units and the implementation of digital control systems were completed in 2025.

Following the trip, Adylbek Kasymaliev instructed officials to ensure thorough preparation of the power system for the fall and winter seasons, strengthen safety oversight of hydraulic structures, and improve the reliability of the power supply.
