More than 102 billion KGS allocated for Kyrgyzstan's roads from 2021

Today, President Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the opening of the Tyup-Kegen highway in the Issyk-Kul region. The total length of the road is 52 kilometers, including the section from 39 to 76 kilometers and 13 kilometers of the Karkyra-Turuk-Sary-Jaz road.

The head of state emphasized that the development of road infrastructure is a priority for the country. More than 102 billion KGS have been allocated for the construction and modernization of roads since 2021, with more than 80% financed from the state budget.

The project was implemented as part of the “Third Phase of the Regional Road Improvement Project in Central Asia” in cooperation with the World Bank. In addition to road construction, the project has built five tourist service centers and improved access roads to popular tourist destinations in the region.

The president noted that investments in the road sector contribute to the development of tourism, the regional economy, and the improvement of the population's quality of life, as well as creating conditions for reducing migration to large cities.
