The ‘Kyrgyzaltyn Resort’ health centre has opened on Lake Issyk-Kul following modernisation

In the Issyk-Kul Region, the ‘Kyrgyzaltyn Resort’ health centre has begun operations following the completion of the first phase of its comprehensive modernisation. The facility was previously known as the ‘Kyrgyz Coast’ sanatorium.

The opening ceremony was attended by Erlist Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and the Processing Industry.

The “Kyrgyz Coast” sanatorium, founded in 1975, was transferred last year to the management of OJSC “Kyrgyzaltyn” on the instructions of President Sadyr Zhaparov. The aim of the transfer was to organise rest and recuperation for workers in the mining industry.

As part of the modernisation, the main building, utilities, the resort grounds and the guest rooms were refurbished. The facility was fitted out with new furniture and modern equipment.

A new pier, 205 metres long, has also been built on the resort grounds, and the outdoor swimming pool, which had been out of use since 2009, has been restored. Construction is currently underway on a multi-purpose sports complex that meets international standards.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Erlist Akunbekov noted that the development of resort areas, the modernisation of tourism infrastructure and the improvement of the quality of leisure facilities are among the priorities of state policy.

‘Kyrygyzaltyn Resort’ will be one of the facilities aimed at developing domestic tourism and creating conditions for high-quality leisure for citizens and workers in the mining industry.
