07/15/2026, 14:49Kyrgyzstan’s state budget expenditure for January–May 2026 totalled 47.32 billion KGS, which is 18% higher than for the same period in 2025. At that time, this figure stood at 40.09 billion KGS.
As is traditional, the largest share of expenditure was accounted for by staff wages and salaries. Over the first five months of 2026, 10.27 billion KGS was allocated for this purpose, compared with 8.23 billion KGS a year earlier. This represents an increase of almost 25%.
Expenditure on social security contributions and deductions rose from 1 billion to 1.22 billion KGS, or by approximately 22 per cent.
The most significant increase was recorded under the heading procurement and use of goods and services. Between January and May 2026, 3.69 billion KGS was spent on these purposes, compared with 1.88 billion KGS a year earlier. Thus, expenditure under this heading almost doubled — rising by 96 per cent.
The increase in expenditure reflects growing funding for the day-to-day operations of government bodies, including wages, employer social security contributions, and the procurement of goods and services.
