This was announced by the Minister of Culture, Mirbek Mambetaliev.
The five-storey building will become the university’s new campus. Its total area will be over 8,500 square metres.
The building is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of August 2026 — in time for the start of the new academic year.
Once construction is complete, the building will be fitted out with classroom furniture, equipment and the necessary supplies.
According to the minister, the construction of the new building is necessitated by a shortage of teaching space. The university is currently housed in a converted former hall of residence, which can no longer cope with the growing number of students. Around 300 students enrol at the university each year.
Last year, an indoor sports hall with a gym, shower facilities and other necessary infrastructure was built next to the new building, funded by sponsors.
Graduates of the university work in theatres, museums, music schools and other cultural institutions across Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, the university trains academic staff in the field of culture in collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences, and also educates students from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
