How much will I be fined for using water scooters?

In Kyrgyzstan, amendments to the Law ‘On Sustainable Development of the Issyk-Kul Ecological-Economic System’ and the Code of Offences concerning the operation of jet skis and scooters on Lake Issyk-Kul came into force. The corresponding document was signed by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov.

The new norms introduce a partial ban on the use of such vehicles and establish liability for violations.

According to the amendments, the use of jet skis and scooters with four-stroke engines and electric motors is allowed on Lake Issyk-Kul in specially designated tourist zones. These zones must comply with environmental and safety regulations and exclude mass gatherings of people and holidaymakers.

Fines are provided for violation of the established rules of operation of jet skis and scooters. Individuals will be fined from 50 to 150 estimated indicators (from 5 thousand to 15 thousand KGS), and legal entities - from 100 to 200 estimated indicators (from 10 thousand to 20 thousand KGS).
