12/01/2025, 16:38Previously, seats 1 to 10 on party lists were sold for up to $1 million. This was stated by President Sadyr Zhaparov during a meeting with international observers, according to the Kabar news agency.
He noted that some deputies did not even attend pre-election meetings with voters, as they bought a place on the list and became deputies. Also, according to the president, voters were taken by bus first to one polling station, then to another, and thus voted several times.
‘We also plan to introduce online voting and believe that this will increase voter turnout from 40% to 80%. Next year, there will be presidential elections, and we will not have time to introduce online voting. But we plan to implement it in the next parliamentary elections’, — the president said.
