Tax authorities have identified an underpayment of 7.3 million KGS by ‘Kygyzaltyn’

A tax audit revealed additional tax liabilities of 7.3 million KGS for Kyrgyzaltyn. This is stated in the company’s financial statements.

The audit was carried out in 2025 and covered three years of the company’s operations — from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2024. The tax authorities checked compliance with tax legislation, legislation on non-tax revenues and on state social insurance.

Following the audit, the company was charged additional taxes and compulsory payments totalling 7,275,000 KGS.

The company itself attributes this to frequent changes in legislation, ambiguous official interpretations, and at times contradictory judicial practice, which creates heightened tax risks for the business.

The report emphasises that even when obligations are fulfilled in good faith, the interpretation of regulations by state bodies may differ, and the consequences for companies’ financial position may prove significant.

Despite the additional tax assessments identified, Kyrgyzaltyn’s management believes that the company has complied with all legal requirements and has settled its tax liabilities in full.

It should be noted that in Kyrgyzstan, the tax authorities have the right to claim additional taxes, fines and penalties for up to six years from the date of the alleged violation.
