From 1 July, unlicensed taxi drivers will face penalties

A new electronic system for obtaining taxi licences has come into operation in Kyrgyzstan. It is now possible to apply for a licence online via mobile apps, without any paperwork.

This was announced by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev. According to him, digitising the procedure should simplify matters for drivers and make the taxi market more transparent.

At the same time, the authorities have warned that from 1 July 2026, drivers operating without a licence will face legal action in accordance with the law.

To obtain a licence, transport operators must undergo mandatory medical and technical inspections.

There is less than a month left before the new requirements come into force, and drivers must ensure they obtain a licence in time to avoid fines and other penalties.
