The changes will affect two National Bank documents: the rules governing operations by Islamic banks and the rules for microfinance organisations and credit unions operating in accordance with Islamic principles.
Following official publication, the resolution will be forwarded to the Ministry of Justice for inclusion in the State Register of Regulatory Legal Acts.
The National Bank must also notify commercial banks, microfinance organisations and credit unions of the changes.
The current regulations on Islamic banking operations were approved back in 2009, whilst the rules for MFOs and credit unions were approved in 2011.
