The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic denied rumors about the sale of gold for the digital asset USDKG

The National Bank issued an official statement in response to the information that appeared in the media and on the Internet about the allegedly planned launch in the third quarter of 2025 of the digital asset USDKG, backed by gold purchased from the National Bank for $300m.

As the agency emphasizes, the bank has not sold and is not selling gold for any projects related to the issuance of digital assets, including the so-called USDKG.

The National Bank explained that all operations with international reserves, including gold, are conducted strictly within the framework of the approved investment policy. For these operations, only reliable international counterparties with a rating not lower than “A” are involved, and all transactions undergo a thorough internal review.

The regulator also noted that it operates independently of other government agencies and does not participate in any digital currency or stablcoin projects. The National Bank did not authorize the use of its name or assets in either advertising or legal materials of such initiatives.

The National Bank urged not to trust unverified information and not to spread rumors that could mislead the public and financial market participants.
