10/20/2025, 15:46There has been a new appointment in the Kyrgyz Ministry of Finance: Nurbek Akzholov has become Deputy Minister.
Akzholov has been working in the ministry since 2009 and over the course of 16 years has risen from specialist in international financial relations to head of department. His professional activities have focused on strategic planning of state investments and the implementation of budget support programs provided by international financial institutions and development partners.
He has been involved in coordinating the implementation of reform matrices related to foreign, domestic, budgetary, and extrabudgetary financing. He has also been involved in planning, preparing, and executing the national budget in accordance with national investment priorities.
Nurbek Akzholov holds a degree in finance and credit, as well as an MBA from one of Japan's leading universities. The topic of his research work is “The Impact of Foreign Aid on Economic Growth in the Kyrgyz Republic.”
