05/23/2025, 08:49President Sadyr Zhaparov signed a decree ‘On measures to regulate the legal status of foreign citizens and stateless persons staying in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.’ The document provides an opportunity for everyone who is in the country in violation of migration laws to legalise their stay until 10 June 2025.
According to the Decree, foreign citizens and stateless persons whose visas or residence permits have expired, who do not have registration documents or work permits, as well as those who have violated the purposes of entry or transit rules, can avoid administrative liability through voluntary legalisation.
The government will soon approve a temporary regulation that will determine the procedure for legalisation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has been instructed to identify violators of the migration regime, and the authorised bodies must conduct a broad information and awareness campaign.
The Presidential Administration is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Decree.
