This is the first time the professional holiday was celebrated on such a large scale in the southern capital of the country.
In addition to the minister, the event was attended by Kamchybek Dosmatov, chief expert of the Sectoral Policy Department of the Department for Preparation of Decisions of the President and Cabinet of Ministers, Bakhtiyar Aliyev, head of the Social Fund, Muradil Jumadilde uulu, chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions, Zamir Yusupov, deputy mayor of Osh, and Talantbek Arstanbaev, deputy plenipotentiary representative of the president in Osh oblast.
Zhyldyz Polotova stressed that this day is celebrated in recognition of the work of people whose profession requires mercy and compassion. She noted that in recent years, President Sadyr Zhaparov has reoriented the republic's social policy towards the development of human capital and the creation of an inclusive social protection system. Thanks to the support of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov, the financing of social guarantees has significantly improved, and the budget of the Ministry has increased by almost 86 per cent.
The Minister also added that social workers provide the population with socio-medical, psychological, rehabilitation and other types of services.
Today, the ministry fully provides guaranteed services to more than 1 million people, and more than 900 social workers provide home care for more than 10,000 citizens. Zhyldyz Polotova noted that the development of regions is of great importance in state policy.
"The administrative-territorial reform initiated by the head of state has given a new vector to regional development. The ministry is also pursuing a policy to improve the quality of life in rural areas. The celebration of Social Worker Day in Osh emphasises the state's attention to social protection in the regions and districts,’ she said.
