Catering establishments are now to be inspected: the terms of the moratorium have been amended in Kyrgyzstan

The President of the Kyrgyz Republic has signed a decree amending a previously adopted document that introduced a temporary moratorium on inspections of businesses.

This refers to the decree of 14 March 2026, which introduced a ban on inspections of businesses. The new amendments expand the list of exceptions to this moratorium.

According to the document, the ban no longer applies to inspections related to ensuring the public’s health and safety and compliance with food safety legislation.

Consequently, the relevant authorities will be able to carry out inspections to monitor food safety and compliance with health standards, even whilst the moratorium is in force.

The authorities explain the decision as being necessary to protect public health and ensure food security.

The decree comes into force ten days after its official publication.
