Restrictions on heavy goods vehicles at the Dolon Pass have been lifted, but remain in force on the Bishkek-Osh motorway

Due to changing weather conditions, snow is falling in most regions and road clearance work is continuing without interruption. Road services under the jurisdiction of the ministry have organised special duty shifts. Roads are being treated with a sand-salt mixture around the clock.

Today, 11 December, the temporary restriction on heavy goods vehicles at the Dolon Pass in the Naryn region has been lifted. However, the restriction on large trucks remains in force at the Ala-Bel Pass on the Bishkek-Osh highway.

Also, on the 506-508 kilometre section of the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart motorway (near the Tuz-Bel Pass), the temporary restriction for all types of motor vehicles remains in force. The snowstorm in this area has not yet subsided. Despite this, road maintenance company No. 957 continues to clear the road and spread inert materials. Additional information will be provided.

Traffic is open on other passes and roads. Work on clearing and treating roads with a sand-salt mixture continues.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications urges drivers to replace their tyres with winter tyres before travelling long distances and to strictly observe traffic rules.
