Around 3,000 foreign nationals have been deported from Kyrgyzstan in recent months

Around 3,000 foreign nationals who had breached the law have been deported from Kyrgyzstan in recent months. A further 100 or so people are set to leave the country in the near future.

President Sadyr Zhaparov announced this in an interview with the state news agency ‘Kabir’. According to him, measures are being taken against offenders regardless of their nationality. Employers’ responsibilities have also been tightened, as has the monitoring of foreign workers.

The issue of foreign workers is being actively discussed following an increase in the number of major investment projects.

The President noted that Kyrgyzstan is gradually becoming a country that welcomes migrant workers, rather than merely sending its own citizens abroad to work.
