Almost 94% of beer imported into Kyrgyzstan comes from just two countries

Between January and May 2026, Kyrgyzstan imported 4.5 million litres of beer — 24.6% less than during the same period last year. In monetary terms, imports fell by 11.2 per cent. This is according to data from the National Statistics Committee.

Over the five-month period, 4.5 million litres of beer worth $5 million were imported into the country. By way of comparison, during the same period in 2025, imports totalled 5.97 million litres worth $5.7 million.

Russia remains the largest supplier of beer to Kyrgyzstan. Between January and May, 2.64 million litres of beer were imported from Russia, worth 261 million soms. Compared with last year, the volume of imports fell by 32.5 per cent, whilst their value fell by 17.2 per cent.

Kazakhstan ranks second, having supplied 1.58 million litres of beer worth 134.7 million soms. The physical volume of imports fell by 8.9 per cent, whilst the value of supplies rose by 2.9 per cent.

Together, Russia and Kazakhstan account for around 94 per cent of all beer imported into Kyrgyzstan.

The most significant growth in supplies was recorded for the Czech Republic — beer imports increased more than ninefold, from 3,900 to 35,000 litres. Supplies from Latvia and Belarus more than doubled.
