Almost 30,000 children in high-altitude areas receive 3,000 KGS a month

In Kyrgyzstan, 29,600 children are receiving a new allowance for families living in high-altitude and remote areas. This was announced at a meeting of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration.

The payment was introduced in January 2026. It amounts to 3,000 KGS per month. The allowance is granted for the third and each subsequent child from birth up to the age of three.

Families living in high-altitude and remote areas, as well as in certain border territories with special status, are eligible to receive the payment. A family’s income and financial circumstances are not taken into account when awarding the allowance.

Given the current number of recipients, approximately 88.8 million KGS are allocated to the allowances each month.

In total, the list of high-altitude areas in Kyrgyzstan includes 430 villages and other settlements.
