07/01/2025, 15:07Today, 1 July, a new general agreement was signed in Bishkek between the Cabinet of Ministers, the Federation of Trade Unions and employers' associations. The document sets out the priorities for socio-economic policy for the next three years and emphasises the key role of social dialogue as an instrument for sustainable development.
The general agreement serves as a platform for reconciling the interests of the state, business and workers.
It aims to prevent labour disputes through negotiation rather than protest, and to improve legislation, taking into account the views of all parties.
The document sets out the general commitments of the parties and includes specific measures for the development of the economy, the labour market and the social protection system.
A republican tripartite commission will monitor the implementation of the agreement.
Key areas of the new agreement include: support for green technologies, reducing informal employment, modernising the agro-industrial sector; job creation, retraining, promoting employment among young people and vulnerable groups; introducing modern labour protection standards and implementing programmes to eradicate violence in the workplace; ensuring gender equality, protecting the rights of young people and equal pay; strengthening the participation of trade unions and employers' associations in the legislative process.
The new document confirms the parties' commitment to joint development, social justice and strengthening partnership in the interests of the country's citizens.
