Revenue from ‘Kumtor’ in respect of gross income tax has almost doubled

Over the course of seven months, Kumtor contributed 17 billion 50.4 million KGS to the Kyrgyz budget. This is almost double the amount for the same period last year.

In January–July 2025, revenue under this heading amounted to 8 billion 652 million KGS. Thus, over the year, it increased by 8 billion 398.4 million KGS, or by 97.1 per cent.

The bulk of the revenue came directly from the tax on Kumtor’s gross income. Over the seven-month period, the company paid 11 billion 861.2 million KGS to the treasury, compared with 6 billion 541.8 million KGS a year earlier. This represents an increase of 81.3 per cent.

A further 5 billion 64.5 million KGS was received as an annual contribution towards the development of Kyrgyzstan’s mineral resources base. During the corresponding period in 2025, the payment amounted to 2 billion 110.1 million KGS. Consequently, it has increased by more than 2.4 times over the year.

Thus, the growth in revenue was driven by both the tax on gross revenue and the contributions towards the development of Kyrgyzstan’s mineral resources base.
