Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a state visit

Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, arrived in Kyrgyzstan today, 30 August, on a state visit.

President Sadyr Zhaparov and First Lady Aigul Zhaparova welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan at Manas International Airport.

The national flags of the two countries are flying from the flagpoles, a red carpet has been laid out, and a guard of honour is lined up.

The solemn atmosphere of the ceremony was enhanced by performances from the military band and the dobulbaschilar ensemble.

The guests of honour were welcomed by komuz players, dance troupes and representatives of the ‘Salbuurun’ traditional culture group.

The piece ‘Alp Baatylar’ took centre stage at the ceremony, symbolising the heroic legacy and strength of spirit of the Kyrgyz people.

The gala programme continued in the airport’s VIP lounge, where guests were treated to performances by a children’s choir and young artists.

The children’s performance of a musical piece in Kyrgyz and Chinese became a special symbol of friendship between the two nations.
