11/18/2025, 15:40President Sadyr Zhaparov said in an interview with Kabarr that foreign specialists working on major infrastructure projects leave Kyrgyzstan immediately after their completion. According to him, workers from China are in the country only on work visas, which expire at the end of construction.
The head of state stressed that tension around the issue of foreign workers is being artificially inflated — this, according to him, is “a special provocation ahead of the elections.” He noted that the state exercises full control over foreigners and, if necessary, can deport violators of the law within one day.
Zaparov also explained why Kyrgyzstan continues to attract foreign workers: the country does not yet have sufficient experience, technology, and equipment to implement complex projects such as tunnels, bridges, and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. At the same time, Kyrgyz specialists are being trained on these construction sites and are gradually gaining competence.
The president recalled that some local companies are unable to complete even domestic road projects, while foreign contractors complete the work on time. He stressed that infrastructure projects are critical to the country's future and should not be subject to manipulation.
According to him, discussions on social media should not distract from the main thing — the construction of facilities that will ensure Kyrgyzstan's long-term development.
