01/29/2026, 14:25The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, signed the Law ‘On the Republican Budget of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2026 and the Planning Period 2027-2028’.
The document was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on 24 December 2025. The main objective of the law is to ensure medium-term budget sustainability and improve the efficiency of public finance management.
According to the approved parameters, the republican budget revenues for 2026 will amount to 551 billion 207 million 156.1 KGS, and expenditures will amount to 550 billion 770 million 757.7 KGS.
Thus, the budget for 2026 has been formed with a surplus of 436,398.4 KGS. These funds are planned to be used to finance operations with financial assets, as well as to repay the main part of external obligations, including the payment of the principal amount of the state's external debt.
The law also sets budgetary guidelines for the 2027–2028 planning period, which is expected to maintain the predictability of fiscal policy and the sustainability of public finances in the medium term.
