President Sadyr Zhaparov inaugurated the building of the Military Medical Service of the State Committee for National Security

Today, 30 January, President Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the opening ceremony of the building of the Military Medical Service of the State Committee for National Security in Bishkek.

The head of state emphasised that today marks the beginning of another important stage in strengthening the national security system — through caring for the health of employees who protect the country's sovereignty, ensure stability within the country and guarantee national security.

In this regard, he congratulated those present on this significant event and cited archival information about the military medical service. The history of the institution began in the early years of the formation of Kyrgyz statehood. In the 1920s, medical units operated in extremely difficult conditions.

Later, in 1951, the military medical service was formed as an independent structure. Staff positions were officially approved with the appointment of personnel to medical institutions.

‘Since then, the military medical service, like other units of the State Committee for National Security, has consistently placed professional duty and responsibility among its priority values and has performed its tasks with complete dedication’, — said the president, emphasising that the construction of the medical complex was carried out on the initiative of the chairman of the SCNS, Kamchybek Tashiev.

The new building, with a total area of about 15,000 square metres, includes a military polyclinic with an operating theatre, intensive care unit and rehabilitation department. It also includes a military hospital, which will provide specialised and inpatient medical care. It includes departments for cardiovascular diseases and general surgery.

In addition, the medical complex is equipped with modern equipment, digital medical technologies and high-tech surgery.

Sadyr Zhaparov emphasised that all these measures are aimed at improving the quality of medical care, reducing treatment times and ensuring the prompt rehabilitation of patients.
He added that the military medical service will serve not only GKNB employees, but also military personnel of the Border Service and the 9th Service, veterans, pensioners and their families, as well as, within the framework of interdepartmental cooperation, employees of judicial and law enforcement agencies. This will relieve the burden on the medical facilities where they previously received treatment.

‘The state will continue to pay special attention to improving the material and technical base of the security and law enforcement agencies’, — the president emphasised.

Sadyr Zhaparov then inspected the offices, which are equipped with modern equipment, including magnetic resonance and computer tomography scanners, ultrasound and echocardiography machines, as well as wards, a conference room, a dining room and a sports hall.
