A new taxi booking service, WB Taxi, has launched in Kyrgyzstan. The app is already available to download, but not everyone can use it yet: in the initial phase, the company has opted for a ‘closed club’ format. This means that only invited users — employees and partners of the service, as well as those on the waiting list — have access to rides.
As the developers explain, this approach will allow them to test the system under controlled conditions and iron out any potential flaws before a full-scale launch. According to company representatives, feedback from the first users will be a key tool for refining the service.
One of WB Taxi’s main features is its loyalty programme. Users are promised 30% cashback when paying for journeys by bank card via the app. The reward is credited in the form of bonus points — so-called ‘watermelons’. Each point is worth 1 KGS, and they can be used to pay for up to 99% of the journey cost. Upon registration, new users are additionally credited with 250 welcome bonuses.
The service offers several fare options: ‘Standard’, ‘Comfort’ and ‘Multi’. The latter option allows users to find a car more quickly by searching across several categories simultaneously. The app also features 24/7 voice support and a chat function for prompt communication with the service.
The company pays particular attention to drivers. They are promised favourable terms of cooperation, including a low aggregator commission and a guaranteed shift income provided the rules of operation are followed.
“We are launching the service gradually to ensure maximum attention is paid to quality and operational stability. The closed-club format helps us to carefully monitor all processes and prepare for scaling,” said Anatoly Smorgonsky, Director of the Department for the Development of Taxi and Transport Services Technology at RWB.
It should be noted that the WB Taxi app is already in use in Russia, where the development team is testing and refining the platform before entering a wider market.
